Chlebeck City Clerk Little Canada, MN 55117 Dear Mr. Chlebeck: March 24, 1983 Tiff ffk y rr p9; � s %. • APR 1 1983 CITY OF LITTLE CANADA Minneapolis will be the site of the 37th annual International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Conference from May 22 through May 26, 1983. Because Minneapolis is so close to you, I urge you to get a caravan of cars and /or buses and attend this international meeting of Clerks with Clerks from around your town. The Universities of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota have provided teachers for the 31/2 days of educational meetings. Because so many Clerks work in towns of 1,000 or less population, many courses will be geared to help those Clerks do a better job. Running the one person office, buying goods and services, cash management, filing systems, dealing with the public are all examples of meetings that will help Clerks from smaller cities. Other courses will include writing effectively; rules and procedures for stream- lining Council meetings; decision making; how to use computers in finances; how to use mini computers, micro computers, word processing in your City; election mana- gement, time management and other subjects. You will learn how to improve your work and help your City. There will also be time on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings to socialize with Clerks from throughout Canada, the U.S.A., Australia, and New Zealand. I have learned much from other Clerks in other countries and from Clerks in other parts of our own country.
