CITY OF BLAINE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 769 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30.033 OF <br />THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BLAINE <br />REGARDING STANDARDS FOR SINGLE FAMILY <br />OR TWO FAMILY DWELLINGS <br />THE CITY OF BLAINE DOES ORDAIN: <br />(Added portions are underscored and deleted portions are <br />shown in brackets) <br />33.033 In every single family or two family dwelling house here- <br />inafter erected, there shall conform to the following stan- <br />dards. <br />(a) There shall be at least three (3) livable rooms per <br />dwelling units. <br />(b) No livable room, except a kitchen, shall have a floor <br />area of less than seven (7) feet wide. <br />(c) Any area more than 3'6" below grade or any part of <br />garage shall not be considered a livable .area.' <br />(d) For a single family dwelling, the minimum finished first <br />floor area of the various kinds of dwellings shall be <br />as follows: first floor area as used herein shall mean <br />the overall dimensions of the first floor: <br />(1) One story with basement - 1040 square feet. <br />(2) Multi -level dwellings - 836 square feet. <br />(e) For two - family dwelling houses the minimum finished <br />floor area for one and two bedroom units shall be 850 <br />square feet per unit. Each additional bedroom beyond <br />two shall require an additional 120 square feet of <br />finished floor area. <br />(f) No residential structure shall have a width of less <br />than twenty -four (24) feet at its narrowest point. <br />Width measurements shall not take into account overhangs <br />or other projections beyond the principal exterior walls. <br />(g) All residential structures shall have permanent concrete <br />or wood foundations, which comply with tie uniform <br />building code as adopted by the State of Minnesota and <br />which is solid for the complete circumference of the <br />house. <br />(h) All single family dwelling, other than earth sheltered <br />homes, shall have at least a 3/12 roof pitch and shall <br />have a shingled roof. <br />(i) All residential dwellings must be built in conformance <br />with the Uniform Building Code as adopted in the State <br />of Minnesota. <br />I f; <br />
