Improvement Hearings <br />Page 2 <br />All pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 429.011 to 429.111 (Laws 1953, Chapter 398 as <br />amended). <br />Such persons as desire to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement <br />will be hear at this meeting. <br />Publish: North Suburban Press - February 8 and 15, 1983 <br />SENIOR CITIZENS DEFERMENTS <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82 -2-63 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DEFERRALS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR CERTAIN DISABLED PERSONS <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Sections 435.193 through 435.195, <br />as amended, authorize the Little Canada City Council to defer <br />special assessment payments for certain disabled persons at the <br />discretion of the Council, and , <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Little Canada <br />determines that deferral of special assessments for certain <br />disabled persons is in the public interest, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council establish <br />its general policies and guidelines for granting said deferrals <br />of special assessments for disabled persons. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council endorses <br />the principle of deferment of special assessments for certain <br />disabled persons, when the payment of said special assessments <br />constitutes a hardship. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council's consideration <br />of the application for granting deferments of special assessments <br />shall be based on the following factors: <br />1. The property must be homestead property. <br />2. The owner must be retired by virtue of a permanent and <br />total disability, and in the case of husband and wife, <br />one person must meet this requirement. The applicant <br />shall be presently receiving Retirement Survivors <br />Insurance or Disability Insurance under the Social <br />Security Act, 42 U.S.C., Section 301, as amended, or any <br />other retirement insurance or disability insurance. <br />
