CREIGHTON
RICHARD D. BUNIN
JOHN F. WAGNER
BRIAN F. COREY
MEMORANDUM
TO:
FROM: Thomas D. Creighton, Legal Consult
DATE: March 7, 1983
SUBJECT: Cable Television Ordinance Amendment
A PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION
5005 SOUTH CEDAR LAKE ROAD
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55416
181 21377-8620
City Administrators - North Suburban Cable Communications Commission
i
Experience has shown recently that in many situations cable companies
will return to cities and commissions with proposed changes (often
upgrading) in the system they originally offered to a City. Since
the original proposal was incorporated as a part of each of the ordi-
nances, each minor change in the proposal would require an amendment
of the ten franchises. The easiest way to handle minor adjustments in
the proposal from Group W for the North Suburbs, could be to amend the
cable T.V. ordinance once so that the definition of "offering"
recognizes that the offering (proposal) may be amended from time to
time with written permission of the City or its delegatee. Please
find below proposed cording for your ordinance which has been reviewed
by your cable commission and is being recommended here for your adop-
tion.
Please send to me a copy of the amendment once it is passed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
