4th Qtr. 1988 <br />SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE THRU CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: <br />The Little Canada/Vadnais Heights Division of the Suburban Area Chamber of <br />Ccmmerce announces the availability of at least three $500 scholarships to <br />be awarded to local residents. Applicants must meet the following <br />requirements: <br />Have a place of residence in Little Canada or Vadnais Heights <br />Be enrolled in or intend to enroll in a post- secondary educational institution <br />Be at least a senior in high school (Adult students are encouraged to apply) <br />To apply, contact the chamber office at 483 -1313. Application deadline is <br />February 28, 1989. We appreciate your support! <br />NEW DUMPSTER RAE S: <br />The City of Little Canada offers a dumpster to their residents every other <br />Saturday at 3100 Country Drive from 8.30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The new rates <br />are as follows: <br />30- GALLON TRASH BAGS - $3 PER BAG <br />APPLIANCES - $12 PER APPLIANCE <br />FULL TRAILER LOAD - $24 <br />$12 PER CUBIC YARD OF TRASH <br />No tires, brush, or garbage will be accepted. <br />✓ HISTORICAL SOCIETY: <br />Little Canada's Historical Society will be meeting at City Hall on <br />Thursday, January 26 and Thursday, March 30, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. New <br />members are welcome! <br />SNOW EMERGENCY PARKING REGULATIONS: <br />Following a snowfall of 2" or more, parking on any street or road in the <br />City of Little Canada is prohibited from 2 a.m. until the street or road <br />has been plowed to FULL WIDTH. Vehicles in violation will be towed or <br />tagged at the expense of the owner. <br />SNOW DISCHARGE INTO STREET PROHIBITED: <br />Shoveling, plowing or blowing snow from your driveway or sidewalk onto a <br />public street or boulevard is illegal. Heavy snowplows have been damaged <br />when hitting compacted and frozen snow deposited on streets. If someone <br />has been hired to plow your snow, please remind them of this law. A fine <br />of up to $500.00 can be levied. <br />V RECYCLING CHANGES: <br />Super Cycle, Inc., the firm that picks up Little Canada residents' recyclables, <br />is no longer accepting junk mail, catalogs, phone books, and wrappers. They <br />have had problems sorting these materials. <br />dt The following materials are acceptabie'fbr " i <br />recycing: newspapers, cardboard, <br />glass, cans, and aluminum.
