Viliefferri Maki
October 12, 1988
A Division of Rio Algom Inc
Village of'Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minnesota 55117
ATTN: Planning Commission
9 10
RECEIVED H
OCT 13 1988
City of
Little Canada
0 5
In reference to items C & D of the proposal to rezone certain
properties in Little Canada, we would like to go on record as
being opposed to those changes. We oppose the changes for
several reasons.
1. Except for part of our property, all of the other
properties have had significant development under the I -1
classification. It seems a bit unfair that severe
restrictions would be placed on us for any future
development of our vacant land. We also feel that
proposed rezoning would adversely affect the value of
our property if we were to sell it.
2. It is our understanding that all of the owners that would
be affected by items C & D are not in favor of the
rezoning. You may wish to confirm this by checking with
the owners of the property that would be affected by the
proposed changes in items C & D of the proposal.
3. It is our understanding that all of the property that
would be affected by C & D of the proposal are now
conforming. If the zoning change were to go through,
many of the properties would be non - conforming.
4. It would severely restrict any expansion that we may want
to do on our properties.
We respectfully request that the Planning Commission recommend
that the areas covered by C & D of the Proposed Rezoning be
dropped for any rezoning considerations.
Sincerely,
George Dougherty
Manager, Facilities & Plant Operations
P.O.
