NEC '\ <br />OCT 251988 r <br />t' City of I- <br />Little Canada <br />'i <br />The City Council has asked our office to examine the method by <br />which freestanding signs are evaluated in the City, and to <br />compare that method to other Metropolitan communities. There is <br />no consensus, to say the least. Total allowable area and height <br />are determined, in the Cities surveyed, by the following various <br />means: Zoning District, lot size, building size, street <br />frontage, setbacks, street classification, speed limit, and <br />several have a standard size throughout the community. Some <br />communities set a standard for area or height and regulate the <br />other by one of the above criteria. <br />Attached is a listing of the surveyed communities and their <br />various methods.
