Chlebeck, Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little ranada Rd.
Little Canada 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck,
"1.711E </0Ct01 of tl[E [.ttute <Vft( ()WE nJ III ECILCinz
Cat into t22t Jiff patients in 1 /E2 C4tE of 111E /322/0 Un [tame,
in diet, anti in t /[E ..'<2222e and /lt2c'2nt2J</t J/ 2L222212. /
±41.10 /1
In response to your letter dated Oct. 5th 1988, your facts and
figures and percentages and statements do no add up.
1. To say that a "bid is just an estimate" and "the project can
go over the bid" is to say that they can charge anything they
feel like.
2. $2000.00 per Lot is a 45% increase over the $1100.00 cost per
Lot at the last meeting - not a 36% increase as was stated.
There are so many different figures and percentages that don't
agree and nothing is concrete.
In Don Carly's letter of Sept. 28th, he states that part of the
increase is due to the time of year. That has nothing to do with
cost factor. Time and material costs the same whether it's summer
or fall When I spoke with you on the phone the other day, you
indicated they were going to proceed with the project this week.
$2000.00 per lot is totally out of the question and we are not in
favor of patching and overlaying such a short street as Carla Lane
at that cost. Our home at 819 Carla Lane is not even served by
c,arla Lane. Our driveway goes out onto Keller Pkwy. Our whole
property is along Keller Pkwy. I feel generous in supporting this
project at the $1100.00 figure that we agreed upon at the last meeting.
I still feel that for the high taxes we all pay in Little Canada
that we should get something for our Tax dollar. We don't have
sidewalks, streetlights, jogging paths, etc., etc, etc., and alot
of things that other communities have and yet our taxes are one
of the highest. They only cut the weeds along the roadway once a
year. I'm ashamed at how unkept our City of Little Canada looks.
We, the people of Little Canada vote you council members in to public
office to best serve our needs as a community. I'm beginning to feel
that your working against us rather than with us. You do not have the
majority of this neighborhood in agreement to go ahead with the project
at that cost and your City Attorney should be advised of that fact
befor: h- tells u t prose
" . 1.
