%^LASSOCIATES;aN
Contuhlny Enyl di =land Surwym.
July 21, 1988
■
City Council
City of Little Canada
515 East Little. Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Re: Drainage in Saiko - Trailer Court
Dear Councilmembers,
500 West Highway 96
St. Paul, Minnesota 55112
484 -3301
We are submitting herewith a suggested division of costs for
the construction of a storm sewer pipe in Sylvan and Day Ave.
As you recall we estimated a cost of $13,000.00 to install a
perforated pipe which would carry not only surface water but
ground water as well. We are of the opinion that groundwater
is flowing north to Demont which is the lowest point.
We also wish to make the following comments relative to this
proposal:
1. As far as we can discover, Sylvan and Day Ave. have never
been vacated. Therefore, if this is true no easements are
necessary. If not, we would recommend that easements be
granted by the Saikosfree of charge.
2. You will notice that we have added 10% contingency making
the total cost for this suggested cost split $14,300.00.
The final cost will be determined by the bidding procedure.
3. We should also point out that we are in no way guaranteeing
that the Saikos will never have water in the basement again
after this project is complete. We are saying that we have
had relatively good success in lowering the water table
using this method in similar circumstances.
4. The total drainage area is 7 acres. The attached map shows
the breakdown divided into 6 areas.
5. The proposed division of cost is as follows:
Page 16
