The Planner explained that two free - standing signs
are allowed by conditional use permit on properties having multiple
tenants or multiple buildings. In this case there are both. The Planner
recommended approval of the conditional use request.
Maryanne Kane, representing the Marketplace, expressed concern that the
new sign would block visibility of the Marketplace sign.
The Commission felt that there was enough distance between the two signs
so that visibility would not be effected.
The Planner pointed out that there would be 110 feet between the signs.
The Planner also pointed out that the sign being requested by Movers
Warehouse is under the allowable square footage that would be allowed
under the Ordinance.
Kane pointed out that when Marketplace requested an additional free - standing
sign, their request was denied.
The Planner reported that the Marketplace sign is larger than allowed by
Ordinance and in order to obtain approval for another free- standing sign,
the Marketplace would have to bring its existing sign into conformance
with the Code.
Page 1
