RAMSEY COUNTY
Public Health Department
Raymond G. Cink, Director
Environmental Health Division
1910 W. County,Rd. B. - Room 209
Roseville, Mn. 55113
633 -0316 — 298 -5972
M E M O R A N D U M
TO: Recycling Coordinators
FROM: Richard J. Hlavka RP
DATE: March 21, 1988
RE: Recycling Grant Agreements
This memo explains the procedure to amend existing grant
agreements or execute new ones. Whichever course you choose, I
need to get new budget figures and signed addendums /agreements ty
May 2, 1988. This deadline is necessary to ensure that we will
have new arrangements made by the time our current agreements
expire on June 30.
Since we are interested in getting onto a calendar year basis,
the next agreements will have to run through December 31 of 1988
or 1989. Most of you will want to do 18 month grant agreements
to save us from going through this again in a few months. To do
this, you should also get into an 18 month contract with your
collection company. Some cities, because of special constraints
or plans still under development, may want to extend the current
agreements to run until December 31, 1988.
To extend the current grants to run through the end of 1988, we
can simply amend the current agreement. To do this, I can send
you an addendum which will have to be signed by your city. To
produce the addendum, I will need to know if you plan any
substantial changes in your program (shift to twice -a -month
collections, additional efforts for multi- units, etc.). Also,
please let me know if you need any changes in the signature
'blocks' used for the current agreements. To this addendum must
be attached a budget showing your additional costs for the six
months.
Alternatively, we can enter into entirely new agreements which
will run through December 31, 1989. Note that the grant
agreement has been revised slightly since we executed the current
one, so if you don't have the new one please contact me
immediately. Your budget will be inserted in the grant agreement
so that it is page five of the new agreement, just as we did for
the current agreements.
Page 37
