CHLEBECK, Clerk 515 Little Canada Road Little Canada, Minn. 55117 484 -2177 CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA MEMORANDUM TO: Joe Chlebeck FROM: John Palacio DATE: May 12, 1988 RE: Replacement of Loading Dock Mr. Fleischhacker has applied for a variance to reconstruct the loading dock of which would be an encroachment on the front yard setbacks. Because of the new railroad bridge, my recommendations are at this date: *Inspection was conducted May 12, 1988. Pictures are enclosed. The pictures indicate that the property has become a refuge area for parked vehicles, trailers, and a trailer home and other debris. Although the establishment of construction businesses and other businesses within the area and the building have contributed to this site with their type of business, my recommendations are that there be made a more desirable location (property) in the City of Little Canada; *The building is a two -story concrete building, and the upper floor contains the cabinet shop of which needs some additional attention; *Second exit must be placed on the opposite side of the building. This door must be a minimum of 3' x 6'8" to swing out and also to provide a stairway, landings and handrails to meet the requirements of the Uniform Fire Code (UFC) and other applicable Codes; *The spray painting and finish room must be sprinkled; *A11 portable extinguishers must be inspected; *Additional portable extinguishers must be provided in the spray area and other areas as well; and *Exit lights must be provided and they must be the illuminated type to give direction of exit.
