Pope Associates Inc.
May 12, 1988
Mr. Joseph Chlebeck, City Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
Architects Engineers Planners
1360 Energy Park Drive
Suite 300
Saint Paul, MN 55108 -5202
Telephone: 612/642 -9200
Fax: 612/642 -1101
htLL , :.,J
_j M; .<,: 1988
=1 CITY (1:
S''„ LITTLE CAN AC.
I am writing you to request that my name be submitted for consideration
for appointment to the Little Canada City Planning Commission. I am a
resident of Little Canada (2350 Dianna Lane, Little Canada, MN 55117)
and, as I hope will be ably demonstrated below, I believe I am eminently
qualified to serve on the Commission.
A native Minnesotan, I have lived here all my life except for two years
spent working in Australia. I am a graduate of the University of Minne-
sota, receiving my Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1973. I have been
a practicing architect since that time.
From 1975 -85 I was Vice President and since 1986, have been President of
Pope Associates Inc. A 24- person architectural and engineering firm in
St. Paul, Pope Associates Inc. is a very active firm -- completing over
1,500 projects since 1980. These projects have been virtually in every
community in the Metropolitan area.
As a result of this large volume of work, I have been able to view,
first -hand, the workings of the Planning Commissions in all of these
communities. I believe I have gained a very thorough understanding of
the difficulties facing the members of these commissions and I believe
that, as an active resident of Little Canada, I also have a good sense
of the needs, goals and values of our community. I am very willing to
serve on the Commission and I believe I can add an invaluable level of
expertise and professional understanding to the work of that body.
I would be most willing to meeting with members of the City Administra-
tion to discuss this request further, if that is desired.
Respectfully submitted,
POPE A OCIATES INC.
Jon .
