CITY OF <br />MAPLEW <br />1830E.COUNTY ROAD B MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA 55109 <br />OFFICE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />612'77()-4560 <br />June 14, 1988 <br />Joseph Chlebeck <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 East Little Canada Road <br />Little Canada, MN 55117 <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT--SUBURBAN HOME-SHARE PROGRAM <br />On April 28, 1988 the Older Adult Home Share Steering Commission, <br />of which your community is a member, concluded that the home- <br />share concept is a cost-effective housing option for older adults <br />and that it should continue to be made readily available to the <br />residents of suburban St. Paul communities" <br />On May 26, 1988 the Commission accepted the attached joint powers <br />agreement, page 5, which would allow this program to continue <br />beyond December 31, 1988 subject to annual renewal. The <br />Commission is requesting your community's approval of this <br />agreement, including your estimated fair-share contribution for <br />1989. (See Appendix A of the agreement.) The Resolution of <br />Intent to Participate (page 6) should be acted on not later than <br />September 15, 1988. However, if you have any concerns regarding <br />the language of the proposed agreement, please contact me at your <br />earliest convenience at 770-4560. <br />For your information, I have also enclosed the following: <br />1. A table of the home-share interview and match activity, by <br />community and program year, since 1986. <br />2. The fair-share contribution paid by each participating <br />community for each of the three years of the pilot program. <br />Page 53 <br />
