Office of the Executive Director
286 Court House 15 W. Finley
Ruby Hunt
Duane W. McCarty
Hal Norgard
Donald E. Salverda
Warren W. Schaber
Ramsey County is now prepared to accept new applications for the
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Our deadline for
receipt of these applications is Friday, March 11, 1988.
Enclosed please find an application form and a copy of the
guidelines which we have been using for this program. We encourage
you to review your needs and determine if this resource might be
appropriate for you.
There continue to be three National Objectives as noted in the
guidelines which can be funded with this program. Preference,
however, must be given to those projects which meet the National
Objective related to low and moderate income persons. Public
services and housing activities are the most common areas in which
this objective is found. This preference is based upon the
regulations which require the County to spend a minimum of 51% of
its funds over a three year period for this objective. To date, we
have not met the objective.
In the past many of you have expressed a need to have a lengthier
period of time in which to prepare your applications. For this
reason we are sending you the materials now for our March review.
If you have questions or need assistance please do not hesitate to
contact Judy Karon at 292 -6461. She will be happy to help you in any
way she can.
Sincerely,
Terry B. Schut3en
County Executive Director
TBS /gb
Enclosures
Page 34
