Work Experience
My work experience has been varied. After High School, I
worked as a baker, until 1964 when I went to work as a'n Indust-
rial Estimator for the Crowley Fence Company. In 1969, The St.
Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority offered me a position
as Specification Writer in their Development Department. I did
so and later transfered within the Agency to be come a Home
Rehabilitation Advisor. I have several years experience with the
312/115 Loan and Grant programs as well as Local Loan and Grant
programs. I am also very familiar with the MHFA Section 8 Program.
I left the Agency on December 31, 1973, after I had become a
Certified Building Official in July of tlhat year.
January 1, 1974 to December 31, 1974, I was a field Inspector
for the City of Blaine. Budget cuts were the reason for my leaving.
Richard Nelson (now with the City of Bloomington) Supervisor
January 1, 1975 to April 1976, I worked for the Minneapolis
Housing and Redevelopment Authority, again as a Rehab Advisor.
Richard Larson, Supervisor
April 1976 to February 1977, I was self employed.
February 1977 to February 1980, White Bear Township. Previously,
the Township had part time inspectors, so I had to set up the
entire department, including the rewriting of many of the old
Ordinances. It included all phases of Code Enforcement.
Jerry Perron, Chairman of the Board, Supervisor 429 -5083
February 1980 to Present. City of Stillwater, Building Official/
Zoning Administrator. I was hired as the City Building Official
and carried out all of the necessary duties, as well as gradually
working into the Planning and Zoning duties, which I also did on
a very small scale with "White Bear Township. In March of 1982,
the Council appointed me the Zoning Administrator, as well as the
Building Official.
I have 10 years experience as a Building Official, with 2+ years
of that also being the Zoning Administrator.
19
