I understand the Washington /Ramsey Metro <br />Watershed District now has jurisdiction over this Ditch, so I am addressing <br />my concerns to you. <br />As you well know by now, the torrential rains of May 7 caused great problems <br />along Ditch 47. I am concerned with the damage caused by the resultant <br />flooding, and the potential for a reoccurrence. However, I would like to <br />point out-that this Ditch has drainage problems even with "normal" rates of <br />rainfall. <br />We built our home in the Westlund Development.. We have lived next to Ditch <br />#'1 for 1 1/2 years. I have ovserved this Ditch over many rains. The Ditch <br />is deepest through the Westlund Development. The water collects and the <br />level rises, taking days to return to its previous level. <br />My request to you is: <br />1) to notify me what is being /will be done to correct the drainage problems <br />with Ditch #7, and when the problem will be remedied; <br />2) to note that at the May, 1984 Little Canada City Council meeting the <br />Council passed a motion requiring the Westlund Development Co. to swale <br />the development before any more builing permits are granted. This it <br />seems would accentuate problems with Ditch 47.
