His setback <br />would be just 21 feet from the property line and, as shown on his <br />site plans, 30 feet from the street. His reason for requesting the <br />variance was that virtually every existing house in the neighborhood <br />was in similar situation. <br />In our review, it was found that Shoreland District Ordinance, Section <br />917.060.D., which regulates setbacks from the public street, states that <br />the setback may be changed to more closely reflect the setback of exising <br />structures.
