Mr. Joseph G. Chlebeck
City of Little Canada
Page Two
July 18, 1984
FIRE TRUCK ACQUISITION CAPITAL PROJECT FUND
The December 31, 1983 remaining balance in this fund is detailed on page 26 of
our 1983 Management Report. Our original recommendation was to transfer the
"erroneous" $10,000 back to the General Fund. This recommendation was also
superseded by the City Council last night.
The City Council (by consensus, but not formal action) decided to use this money
to finance the pending sprinkler system in the City Center (see above).
Accordingly, this $10,000 should be transferred to the new City Center Sprinkler
System Capital Project Fund. This can be accomplished immediately, subject to
formal City Council actions.
The remaining assets of this fund apparently committed to finance the Fire Hall
sprinkler system. Accordingly, this fund should be left open pending the
completion of that project.
SENIOR CITIZEN CAPITAL PROJECT FUND
This project was substantially completed at December 31, 1983 and final costs
(and interfund transfers) should be effected in 1984. This fund should be
closed and the remaining cash deficit (approximately $6,000) should be financed
by a cash transfer from the General Fund.
This fund has interfund receivables and payables at December 31, 1983.
Accordingly, these items must be considered when the above cash transfer is
made. See Statement 16 and Exhibit 8 in the 1983 Annual Financial Report.
This fund can be closed and the above cash transfer effected immediately, sub-
ject to City Council action.
I have had a recent change of personnel on my staff. Tim Engel, who worked
closely on your account, is no longer with us. However, I have designated
Ken George to work closely with yourself and Annette. Ken is a Certified Public
Accountant and has been with our firm for three years. He is proficient in
governmental accounting. He will be working directly with me to continue our
services to aid you and Annette as required.
If you have any questions or would like to review the above data, please don't
hesitate to call myself or Ken.
Sincerely,
VOTO, REARDON, TAUTGES & CO., LTD.
Robert J. Voto, CPA
RJV:cl
cc: Correspondence File
3t4
