MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 9, 2006 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 9th day of <br />March, 2006 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Jon Hall <br />Mr. Gary Rheaume <br />Ms. Katie Socha <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Michael McGraw <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Brandon Rickert, Cable TV <br />MINUTES The minutes of the February 9, 2006 minutes were approved as submitted. <br />TEXT Knudsen noted that the Commission has before it a proposed Text <br />AMENDMENT- Amendment that would create a Conditional Use Permit allowing a second <br />CUP FOR driveway for single-family properties. He reviewed the history of this <br />SECOND matter noting the Planning Commission's review and denial of a Variance <br />DRIVEWAY request for a horseshoe driveway make by Mike Murphy for property at <br /> 601 County Road B-2 East. When the Council reviewed the Variance <br /> request, it was noted that there was no hardship present that would allow <br /> the Variance request to be granted. Rather than act on the Variance, the <br /> Council tabled action in December and asked staff to research what <br /> surrounding communities are doing as well as prepare a Text Amendment <br /> for consideration that would permit second driveway accesses by CUP. <br />The City Planner noted that the Council wanted to determine whether or <br />not the City's current ordinance was in line with surrounding <br />communities.
