LICENSE ORDINANCE - DISCUSSION <br />DRAFT ONLY <br />Section 1. General. In order to identify all businesses operating within <br />the City of Little Canada, and to otherwise promote the general health, <br />welfare and safety of the City any person, firm, corporation or other <br />business entity desiring to do business within the City of Little Canada <br />shall be required to obtain a license from the City. <br />Section 2. Application. The provisions of this Chapter shall govern the <br />application for an issuance of licenses in the City, except as may other- <br />wise be specifically provided by City Ordinance in regard to particular <br />licenses. <br />Section 3. Applications for Licenses. Applications for a license shall <br />be filed in writing with the City Clerk's office. Each such application <br />shall contain the following information: <br />(A) Name and residence address (or registered office in the case of <br />corporation) of applicant: <br />(B) Name and address of the location or place of business for which <br />the license or permit is required, and the kind of business to be carried <br />on at said address: <br />(C) Such other information as this Ordinance or the City Clerk may <br />require. <br />Section 4. License Fees. Except as otherwise or additionally required <br />by City Ordinances, fees for the following licenses and permits shall be <br />in an amount_ set by Council Resolution and kept on file in the City <br />Clerk's office. See attachment. - <br />Section 5. Receipts for Fees. Upon payment of any such fee the City <br />Clerk shall prepare duplicate receipts therefor, one of which shall be <br />delivered to the applicant and the other of which shall be attached to <br />and filed with the application for license or permit. <br />Section 6. Investigations. Before granting or denying any license <br />application, the Council may order such investigation of the applicant, <br />his business or proposed business, and the premises on which it is to <br />be conducted, as it shall deem necessary. <br />Section 7. Duration. All licenses or permits shall terminate on the <br />30th day of each June after the issuance thereof. <br />Section 8. Prorating of License. For issuance of a new, annual license, <br />the same shall be prorated upon a quarterly basis. <br />Section 9. Revocation of License. The Council may revoke any license <br />for violation of City Ordinance or any applicable State or Federal statute <br />or regulation. <br />26 <br />
