ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 814 TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RELATING TO LICENSES. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />814. Business Licenses <br />814.010. PURPOSE AND INTENT. The City Council finds that <br />there are certain business, commercial and industrial enterprises <br />within Little Canada which are not licensed, pursuant to other <br />provisions of the Municipal Code. Such activities can involve <br />possible danger to life and property, or create nuisances by <br />being in violation of the Municipal Code, State or Federal <br />regulations, or applicable fire codes. All such business, <br />commercial and industrial enterprises operating in offices within <br />the City of Little Canada in commercial and industrial zoning <br />districts shall be required to obtain a license from the City to <br />identify appropriately all such businesses and to otherwise <br />promote the general health, welfare and safety of the residents <br />of Little Canada. <br />814.020. APPLICATION. Applications for a business license <br />shall be filed in writing with the City Clerk. Each such <br />application shall contain the following information: <br />(A) Name and resident's address of applicant or registered <br />office if applicant is a corporation; <br />(B) Name and address of place of business, and the kind of <br />business to be carried on at said address; and <br />(C) Such other information as the City Clerk may require. <br />814.030. LICENSE FEES. The fees for such business licenses <br />shall be $10.00, unless a different amount is specifically <br />provided for in the Council Resolution, on file in the office of <br />the City Clerk. <br />814.040. RECEIPTS FOR FEES. Upon payment of such fee, the <br />City Clerk shall prepare duplicate receipts therefor, one of <br />which shall be delivered to the applicant, and the other shall be <br />attached to and filed with the application for the license. <br />814.050. INVESTIGATION. Before granting or denying any <br />license application, the Council may order such investigation of <br />the applicant, the business, or proposed business, and the <br />premises on which it is to be conducted, as it shall deem <br />necessary. <br />
