MINUTES
Planning Commission
Feb. 9, 1984
Manufactured
Homes
Adjourn
Mr. Locke felt that the only way to prevent a single -wide manufactured
home from coming in would be to put a minimum width requirement in the
Code. Locke also pointed out that any restrictions on the manufactured
housing would apply to a single family home as well.
Mr. DeLonais asked if the City could restrict single -wide trailers
from being brought in a residential neighborhood. Mr. Locke replied
that only by the width requirement.
Mr. French asked why Mr. Locke objected to a minimum width of 24 feet.
Mr. Locke replied that this would apply to single family homes as well
and the City has some that are 22 feet wide. Locke pointed out that
the widest single -wide trailer is 18 feet.
Mr. Licht suggested that the minimum width requirement he 22 feet and
that manufactured homes must conform to the Guidelines for Manufactured
Housing Installations.
The Commission discussed the possibility of a single -wide trailer with
a small addition being able to meet the 22 foot width requirement.
Mr. Locke did not feel that this would qualify under the width minimum
and would not cause a problem.
Mr. French pointed out that the main structure of the home would have
to be at least 22 feet wide and, therefore, this requirement would not
cause a problem even if a single family house had a small addition on
it
Mr. DeLonais recommended adoption of the third proposed ordinance,
that is, an ordinance amending Sections of the Little Canada Zoning
Ordinance pertaining to mobile (Manufactured) homes.
Motion seconded by Mr. French.
Motion carried 8 - 0.
Mr. French recommended that the meeting he adjourned.
Motion seconded by Mr. Costa.
Motion carried 8 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,j /
r/
Kathleen Glanzer, Recording Secretary
Page -7-
