CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
?Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484 -2177
February 1, 1984
TO: PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL
RE: MANUFACTURED HOMES
MAYOR
Raymond Hanson
COUNCIL
Michael Fahey
Beverly Scalze
Dennis Forsberg
Mugs Nardini
There have many questions about manufactured housing and what type
of ordinance would be necessary to control the installation. ICBO
has published a booklet titled "Guidelines for Manufactured Housing
Installations ". This booklet is designed for the installation of
manufactured housing on privately owned lots. It talks about footings
(which are the same as the building code), additions to the house, and
building service equipment. One thing not covered by this booklet
is the width of a unit in a single family zone. It also does not
address the type of siding or pitch of roof.
If you, as law makers of this city, make any restrictions on manufac-
tured housing, it must also be enforced on site built homes. That is
why the only requirements I would propose to the governing body is
to adopt a minimum width for single family homes and the "Guidelines
for Manufactured Housing ".
I have copies of this booklet in my office if any of you would like
to review it before the meeting.
E.
