Orh <br />Committee Meeting Recommendations; Thursday, September 15, 1983 <br />I. Advertising Sign: A billboard, poster panel, pointed bulletin board, or other <br />communication device which is used to advertise products, goods, and /or <br />services which are not exclusively related to the premise on which; the sign <br />is located. Advertising signs would allow name and address of business. <br />II. Window Sign: Eliminate window sign restrictions as spelled out on Temporary <br />Sign Ordinance #207 and #209. Make no limitation on % of window space <br />provision because it becomes unenforceable. <br />Alternative: For security reason , there must be some visibility and/Limit <br />window display area to 25 % of total window space. ta c5y W u �vw <br />III. Holiday Signs: Conflict in present statute. displayed for a period not to <br />exceed sixty (60) days (to current Temporary Sign Ordinance #209 which <br />reads): The temporary use of holiday signs for not more than seven (7) <br />days nor more than four (4) times to one business within one (1) calendar <br />year. <br />Definition of Holiday Sign: Any sign displayed on those nationally recognized <br />holidays. <br />No restriction placed on length of time of use. <br />IV. Availability of Permits for Temporary Signs: Availability of Permits for <br />Temporary Sign: "Annual Permit ". Person seeking permit will purchase <br />annual permit and would be required to notify City of Little Canada by <br />written notificaiton of the time of use and shall be limited to 20 da"- <br />a year. However, new businesses or relocated businesses are exempt from <br />time limit for a period of one year. Written communication must designate <br />dates for each period of use. Recognizing there will be individual -- hardship <br />rn!.Ilicts and they shall be addressed individually, and that there be on- <br />_:y iper raps ere • proper y owner, <br />V. An annual permit may be issued by more than one person designated by <br />City oi• Little Canada. <br />VI. Sign Fees: Recommend annual sign fee of $25.00. <br />VII. Recommend directional signs showing Industrial vs. Business areas on East, <br />South and North areas. <br />
