The shelter or <br />evacuation plan must be approved by the municipality by March 1, 1989 with <br />the municipal approval of the plans submitted by the park owners be <br />forwarded to the Department of Health. <br />Rules Subsection 8 states that a manufactured home park with ten or more <br />manufactured homes receiving a primary (first) license after March 1, 1989 <br />must provide the type of shelter required by Section 327.20 Shelter <br />Construction Standards. These Standards are: <br />Chapter 1370 Department of Administration <br />Minnesota State Building Code — Storm Shelters <br />❑ The purpose of Sections 1370.0100 to 1370.0230 is to provide <br />protection for manufactured home parks' occupants from tornados <br />and extreme wind. <br />❑ 1370.0130 Applicable Requirements. Incorporation by reference <br />(Interim Guidelines for Building Occupants Protection from <br />Tornados and Extreme Winds). <br />❑ 1370.0140 Plan Specifications /Permits. Diagrams and engineering <br />calculations must be prepared by registered architect or engineer <br />licensed in the State of Minnesota. <br />❑ 1370.0150 Space Requirements. A minimum of four square feet per <br />person is required. <br />Page 18 <br />
