MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
March 9, 1989
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of
the Planning Commission of the City of Little Canada,
Minnesota was held on the 9th day of March, 1989 in the
Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little
Canada Road in said City.
Chairman Peter Costa called the meeting to order at
7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Commission were
present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Peter Costa, Chairman
Gene DeLonais
Art Herkenhoff
Bill Davison
Bob Pedersen
Dave Bendel
MEMBERS ABSENT: Peggy Schweizer
ALSO PRESENT: Steve Grittman, City Planner
Joseph Chlebeck, City Clerk
Minutes There being no corrections to the minutes of the February 9,
1989 Commission meeting, the minutes will stand approved as
read.
McNamara & Ms. Kim Runestrand, Mrs. Mondor's daughter, appeared before
Mondor PUD the Commission reporting that they had met with Mr. McNamara
Zoning and that he had made a verbal offer on the property.
Ms. Runestrand stated that Mondors made a verbal counter
offer about two weeks ago and have not heard from
Mr. McNamara since, so Mr. McNamara must not be interested.
Mr. Costa asked Mr. Grittman why the property must be
rezoned to PUD now. Mr. Costa felt that the property should
be zoned the way it is until it needs to be rezoned.
Mr. Grittman stated that the Council was concerned that a
permitted use may be submitted in which the Council would
not have the opportunity to review a site plan on, and would
therefore end up allowing a driveway onto Centerville in a
location that the Council felt was unappropriate.
Mr. Grittman further stated that without having a Council
review of a permitted use the Council may not have any input
into that decision, so the Council wishes to initiate a PUD
zoning where any proposal for that property would have to
come before the Planning Commission and Council, and the
site plan would have to be reviewed at that time.
Page 1
