MINUTES <br />Cft9..Coundil <br />May 27! <br />Knox <br />Lumber <br />PUD <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 5 <br />, Connco " "j <br />Shoes <br />Sign <br />Height„ ;?� <br />Variance' <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 6 <br />Fahey pointed out that a Public Hearing was held on April 22, 1987 <br />to consider the Knox Lumber request for a conditional use Planned <br />Unit Development for the expansion of their retail area. Action <br />was tabled on the request pending a recommendation from the Planning <br />Commission. <br />Fahey pointed out that the Planning Commission and the Planner <br />have recommended approval of the request. <br />The Planner reported that Knox Lumber has submitted a new site plan <br />,which incorporates his recommendations. Also, the PUD Agreement <br />will be ready for signature as soon as Council approves the request. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87 -5 -221 - APPROVING THE KNOX <br />LUMBER CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND PUD FOR <br />EXPANSION OF THEIR MERCHANDISING AREA SUBJECT <br />TO THE DRAFTING AND SIGNING OF A PUD AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE CITY BY KNOX LUMBER AND SUBJECT TO <br />THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND <br />CITY PLANNER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, LaVaile, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 239. <br />Fahey opened the public hearing on the request of Connco Shoes for a <br />sign height variance in order to construct a 40 -foot high pylon on <br />their site on Country Drive. Fahey pointed out that there is presently <br />a 24 -foot high roof sign on the property. <br />The Planning Commission has recommended approval of the variance <br />subject to the recommendations as contained in the Planner's report <br />dated May 11, 1987. <br />David Johnson, representing Connco Shoes, reported that the sign <br />is for another tenant that will be leasing half of the Connco <br />building. Johnson reported that the tenant is Viking Trading and <br />is a liquidation business that will draw traffic to the building. <br />There was no one from the general public wishing to comment on the <br />Connco sign height variance. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Page 60 <br />Fx k 41+ G <br />
