Yet with its interlock-
ing triangles it's more resistant to stress and wind -
warp.
Notice the distance between the feet. This wide stance
lessens the load. making the foundation construction
less expensive. The wide stance also improves the
tower's stability, reducing twist and sway. The unique
leg configuration shields transmission lines from
falling ice and wind loads.
The Landmark tower is designed around an elevator
system which is an integral part of the legs. The safety
of this two -man lift is bolstered by a mechanical inter-
locking safety device.
Other advantages of the Landmark tower:
• The "window" provides a shielded location for micro-
wave antennas to be mounted.
• An optional "sky pod" easily accessed by the elevator
system, can house the electronic transmission
equipment.
• The assembly process itself is simple and repetitious.
Landmark towers are bolted together for additional
strength. There are very few welds and 100% of these
are inspected.
• The modular design of the Landmark tower makes it
easier to construct in locations where limited periods
of good working weather exist.
• For smaller towers, the Landmark can be designed
with trusses which are assembled off -site and carried
to their destination by helicopter.
• Adelphon's technologically advanced CAD system
makes it possible to customize the tower design.
Tower designs can be configured to any dimensions,
and a record is provided of all loads applied to the
structure, including antennas, transmission lines,
wind, dead weight and ice loading.
Besides the Landmark towers, Adelphon offers a host
of other conventional and custom design and build
services, including traditional guyed towers. Look to
Adelphon for all your tower needs.
ADELPHON, INC.
ENGINEERING WITH 4 PURPOSE
P.O. This
structure may be used for mounting
antennas which must be separated
by a larger disunce. Additionally, n
is more rigid than a Type 1 structure
and provides more windows for
mounting microwave antennas along
the height of the structure. Micro-
wave antennas may also be placed
inside the windows and the windows
covered with a screening material,
making them invisible from ground
elevation.
