'3 2 <br />Sanders and Associates Inc.. • 365 East Kellogg Boulevard • St. Paul, MN • 55101 • (612) 221.04011 <br />July 11, 1989 <br />Mayor and Members of the City Council <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 East Little Canada Road <br />Little Canada, Minnesota 55117 <br />RE: Cost Analysis - Pioneer Park Well vs. City Water <br />Attached is a cost comparison on the installation of a 6" well at Pioneer Park to <br />be used for the irrigation system instead of city water. <br />A welt is estimated to cost $8,000 to $14,000 depending on the depth needed to find <br />an adequate volume of water. In addition, there would be annual operating and <br />maintenance costs of less than $1,000 per year. <br />City water is estimated to cost $4,500 to $8,500 per year depending on the amount <br />of water used in any given year. <br />It appears that the well would pay for itself in just a few years, therefore, I <br />recommend that we proceed to obtain informal bids on the installation of a well. <br />William D.
