237 Twin Lake Trail
Little Canada. MN 55127
August 1, 1989
Little Canada City Council
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Council Members:
I have been a resident of Little Canada since
September, 1983. at which time my wife and I
purchased our 'home at 237 Twin Lake Trail. Our
residence is'located on Twin Lake and is adiacent
only to Interstate 694. The last residence across
the street from us is located 2 lots east.
I have owned a boat and a motor home since
1984. I have parked both the boat and motor home
on the city property across the street from my home
since that time.
On Monday. July 31. 1989, Mr. Dave Harris
identified himself as an employee of the City of
Little Canada to my wife and advised that we are
not allowed to use the city property and we would
have to move our boat. This is the only time I
have been informed of this restriction.
I have used the easement because the boat and
motor home do not obstruct or interfere with my
neighbor's view from their windows. My boat and
motor home are not an eve sore to the neighborhood
and have been parked off the street to retain the
full street width. To my knowledge, I could park
my boat and motor home on the street. However, I
feel this would considerably narrow the street
width as well as cause obstruction to neighborhood
pedestrians and traffic. I have also faithfully
maintained the easement to City standards.
I visited City Hall on the afternoon of July
31. 1989, and talked with Mr. Dave Harris. As
suggested by Mr. Harris. I am respectfully
requesting the Council's permission to allow me to
park my boat and motor home on the City's easement
across from my residence and to continue
maintenance of the property.
Respectfullv,
Raymond Holloway, Jr.
Page 2
