ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 1601.280 TO THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, <br />ESTABLISHING LAWN SPRINKLER RESTRICTIONS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />Section 1601.280 is hereby added to the Municipal Code of <br />the City of Little Canada to read as follows: <br />1601.280. Lawn sprinkler restrictions. The use of the <br />municipal water system for lawn sprinkling shall be regulated as <br />provided in this section. In the event the City Council <br />determines that a water shortage exists, the City Council is <br />authorized to restrict the sprinkling of lawns within the City <br />by adopting a resolution setting forth the restrictions. During <br />the period of time set forth in the resolution, all property <br />with addresses that end with an odd number may be sprinkled on <br />odd numbered days, and property with addresses that end with an <br />even number may be sprinkled on even numbered days. This <br />section does not apply to private wells. The violation of any <br />provision of the resolution shall constitute a misdemeanor. <br />Upon conviction thereof, the violator shall be punished by a <br />fine of not exceeding $700.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed <br />ninety (90) days or both, in addition to the costs of <br />prosecution. <br />Section 2. <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after its passage and publication. <br />PASSED by the City Council of Little Canada this day <br />of , 1989. <br />ATTEST: <br />Annette Freeman, <br />Deputy City Clerk <br />Michael I.
