#4.
#5.
#7.
Cup permit filled out for garage space over 1000 feet.
Garage dimensions checked and corrected on city copy of original plans.
Cup permit filled out for rec. space in front yard.
#8.
The intended use of the sport court/hockey rink is playing ice and roller hockey,
broomball, basketball, badminton, volleyball and any other activities that you would use
such an area for.
The hockey rink surface would be concrete.
To control pucks or and other balls from leaving the rink I would like to put a vinyl
coated fence above the hockey boards approximately 6 feet or 4 feet above the hockey
boards. The hockey boards are 3 feet high but the landscaping grade in the front yard next
to Edgerton Street is raised so that the hockey rink boards are not as noticeable. We
planted 2 birch, 1 red maple, 3 thorn less hawthorns, 3 blue spruces, 6 lilac bushes, 9
juniper bushes, lots of perennials, flowers and shrubs last fall. As with most landscaping
it takes time to really see the results, I would also like to add 6 to 10 more pine trees 4- 6
feet in height (instant coverage) in front of the hockey rink. The goal of the front yard is
to make it pleasant to drive by and enjoy the landscaping and also not to notice that I
have a sport court in my front yard. The Oval hockey rink in Roseville does a pretty good
job of hiding the fact that a huge hockey and speed skating rink are there.
I have some really nice post lights I was thinking of using for lighting, both of my
neighbors houses are well behind the sport court so that the lighting should not be an
issue. I would need to get a permit for any lighting use.
The hockey boards would be painted to match the exterior of the house and to
become less noticeable. As with any hockey boards over time any damaged boards would
be removed and replaced. I used 2x12 green treated boards so they should holdup pretty
good.
The hours of use would primarily be the same as any other outdoor activity that you
would do in your own yard. The whole purpose of this sport court is to encourage my
children to go outside and play. Since the hockey rink has been up, my children have
spent 1-2 hours a night playing on it whenever possible. The neighbor kids come over
almost every time we are out there as well as kids on his hockey team friends and family.
Since we started using the hockey rink I would say that as of January ls~ there has been at
least 200 kid hours of use, which otherwise would have been 200 hours of television
watching or video game playing.
#9.
Deck permit applied for.
#12.
The impervious surface or class V next to and behind the garage could be removed so
that I could surface the sport court. There is also some asphalt areas I could reduce in
size, I and G from Joel's notes. I would like to confirm measurements to make sure
everything is accurate. Since it is winter that will have to wait until spring, as would any
surfacing of the sport court. I would also like to check total square footage of yard. The
