AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1601.210(3) AND 1601.330 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, RELATING TO FEES FOR WATER SERVICE AND DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. P.O2'03 Section 1601.210(3) of the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: 1601.210(3). For turning on water or turning off water, a service charge of Ten Dollars ($10.00) will be made. If turned on or off after working hours, the charge shall be Forty -five Dollars ($45.00). Section 2. Section 1601.330 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: 1601.330. Delinquent payments. Any account which remains unpaid thirty (30) or more days after the bill is mailed is a delinquent account. A penalty in the amount of ten (10 %) percent of the unpaid balance shall be added to each delinquent account. If an account has been delinquent for thirty (30) days, written notice shall be forwarded to the account holder that water service shall be terminated seven (7) days from the date of the notice unless full payment is received at the City Hall prior to 4:30 p.m. on the seventh day following the written notice. An account holder may file a written request for an extension of up to twenty -one (21) days from the date of the written notice to pay the outstanding bill. Each household shall be allowed only one extension per year. Water service shall be terminated without further notice if the delinquent account is not paid in full within the period of time specified in the notice or in any written extension. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication. PAGE -2-
