Itty, we are currently preparing plans and specifications for the replacement and realignment of approximately 2,500 lineal feet of the Utility's 90 -inch diameter water conduit which, together with a similar parallel conduit, conveys water fran Vadnats Lake to the water treatment plant. The portion being replaced is located between Roselawn Avenue and County Road B and between the Soo Line tracks and the Utility's lime sludge lagoon, in Maplewood. As you may be aware, the watermains supplying Little Canada (a 12 -1nch and a 24 -inch) are Installed in the Water Utility's right-of -way northward fran Roselawn Avenue, closely adjacent to the new alignment of the large conduit being replaced. It is Ilkely that the proposed construction will have an adverse effect on the continuity of service to the City during the construction period unless special precautions and /or temporary mains are provided by the contractor to which the conduit replacement project is awarded; an award is anticipated early this fall, with completion of the work scheduled for June 1, 1990.
