The portion being replaced is
located between Roselawn Avenue and County Road B and between the Soo Line
tracks and the Utility's lime sludge lagoon, in Maplewood.
As you may be aware, the watermains supplying Little Canada (a 12 -1nch and
a 24 -inch) are Installed in the Water Utility's right-of -way northward fran
Roselawn Avenue, closely adjacent to the new alignment of the large conduit
being replaced. It is Ilkely that the proposed construction will have an
adverse effect on the continuity of service to the City during the
construction period unless special precautions and /or temporary mains are
provided by the contractor to which the conduit replacement project is
awarded; an award is anticipated early this fall, with completion of the
work scheduled for June 1, 1990.
The City's agreements with the Water Uti
dated July 13, 1966 and April 19, 1978,
responsible for the costs Involved In al
question as required to accommodate the
rei ovation of the Water Uti I Ity's fact I I
I ity for use of the right -of -way,
provide that the City will be
tering or relocating the mains in
alteration, maintenance or
ti es.
Page 107
