809.020. Bond Required. Each applicant shall, before <br />being granted a license, provide a continuing performance bond <br />in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) for the <br />benefit of its customers and of the City. Further, said <br />applicant shall provide a certificate of public liability <br />insurance in the minimum amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($100,000.00) for any one person injured, and Three Hundred <br />Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) for more than one injury in a <br />single occurrence, and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) <br />property damage coverage per accident on each and every vehicle <br />used for collection service. <br />809.030. Definitions. As used in this chapter, the <br />following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to <br />them: <br />(A) Bulky Items. Large household items, including <br />refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, water <br />heaters, carpeting and padding, mattresses, chairs, couches, <br />tables, and other such items of furniture. <br />(B) Collection Service. Collection service is a private <br />or public operation engaged in collection and transportation of <br />refuse, yard waste and recyclables. <br />(C) Day- Certain Collection. Day- certain collection is a <br />City approved plan for weekly collection services by an <br />established day- certain schedule. This schedule requires <br />refuse, yard waste and recyclable collection on the same day of <br />each week and is based on a five day, Monday through Friday, <br />work week. The only exceptions to the "day- certain" plan shall <br />be during those weeks in which legal holidays occur. <br />(D) Garbage. Garbage is organic waste, including <br />discarded materials resulting from the handling, processing, <br />storage, preparation, serving and consumption of food. Garbage <br />does not include yard waste. Garbage does not include items set <br />for the recycling program. <br />(E) Place of Business_ Any social, commercial, fraternal, <br />religious, educational, medical, or industrial establishment, <br />town houses, and apartments with three or more dwelling units. <br />(F) Recyclable Materials. Recyclable materials are <br />reusable or reprocessable materials that are mutually agreed <br />upon by the City and its contractor. Recyclable materials may <br />include such items as newsprint, corrugated ledger paper, <br />bi -metal cans, aluminum, and glass. Recyclable materials <br />specifically excludes refuse and yard waste. <br />(G) Recycling Collection Service. The collection of <br />recyclable materials accumulated in recycling containers set out <br />for the purpose of recycling at any residence in the City <br />-2- <br />Page 17 <br />
