Karon, Direct-0r CL< <br />Community and Economic Dev opment <br />Ramsey County <br />SUBJECT: Availability of Funds for the Fiscal Year 1990 <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program <br />DATE: November 10, 1989 <br />Ramsey County is now accepting applications from suburban Ramsey County <br />municipalities, non - profit organizations, and County Departments for use of <br />the Ramsey County HUD funded CDBG Entitlement program for fiscal year 1990. <br />The following schedule will be adhered to this year: <br />a) Applications will be accepted from November 10, 1989 to <br />February 15, 1990. <br />b) Applications will be reviewed for eligibility and completeness from <br />February 15, 1990 to March 31, 1990. <br />c) The Public Hearing and the County Board review and approval of a <br />Plan for submission to HUD will take place prior to May 15, 1990. <br />d) Funding will be available on July 1, 1990. <br />In accordance with the published Final Rule resulting from changes made by <br />Congress in 1987, the County is seeking applications for projects which will <br />meet the national objective serving persons of low and moderate income. <br />Although our final allocation has not been determined as yet, we expect to <br />have approximately $850,000 available for this purpose. <br />If you have an activity which you believe could benefit low and moderate <br />income persons in your community which may be eligible for assistance through <br />the Community Development Block Grant program,;please call Pat Yoerger at <br />298 -4111 for an application. <br />Should you need assistance in determining if an activity may be eligible for <br />this program in general, I will be happy to assist you in any way that I can. <br />Pge 72 <br />
