I have prepared this Ordinance after <br />reviewing our current and former Ordinance, State Statutes, as <br />well as the Minnesota Rules Regulating Licensing of Electricians <br />and Inspection of Electrical Installations. <br />As we discussed, this Ordinance incorporates those portions <br />of the Minnesota Rules governing inspections, enforcement <br />procedures, and appeals. Provisions relating to licensing are <br />not incorporated since the City's authority pursuant to <br />Minnesota Statutes 326.244, Subd. 4 is limited to inspection, <br />and does not extend to licensing. <br />The Ordinance is essentially a reenactment of what was <br />previously Chapter 308 of the Little Canada Code. I have, <br />however, made several modifications in order to make the <br />Ordinance consistent with State Statutes and Rules. <br />If you believe additional provisions or revisions are <br />necessary, please advise.
