Eberlin, C.P.A.
John Palacio has introduced me to the City's concerns associated with the
stockpiling of material on the Frattalone property. It is my understanding
that the City has experienced two (2) recent water main breaks of a 12 inch
diameter water main lying within the road right -of -way adjacent to the
Frattalone property. It is suspected that the water main breaks are due to
the movement of compressible soils surrounding the pipe caused from the
loading associated with the nearby stockpiled material. There has also been
speculation that the foundation of the Capital City Glass building across
Country Drive from the Frattalone property has experienced movement which has
caused difficulty in the opening of building doors and windows.
We are in the process of attaining documents associated with any previous
soils exploration work in the area. Upon reviewing all available existing
information, we will solicit proposals from soils exploration firms for a
determination of underlying soil material types and compressibility and for a
determination of whether or not the operations on the Frattalone property
could be the cause of the soil movements in the area.
We will submit the proposals for council review upon their receipt.
If you have any questions associated with this matter, please feel free to
contact our office.
Yours very truly,
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES, INC.
)77„.doz,L eaS,,c4
Michael C.
