Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Senior Housing - Statement of Interest
MAYOR
Michael Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Biesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaVaile
As mentioned in my report to you for the Council meeting of March 14,
1990, another developer has expressed interest in senior housing
aimed at the northeast corner of Little Canada Road and Jackson.
This meeting occurred on Friday, March 16th, at which time I informed
them about zoning concerns with the site and the Council's concerns
in general relating to elderly housing, i.e. the number of units,
guaranteed availability to the elderly, definition as to age of
elderly, availability to Little Canada residents, etc.
Based on this meeting, they indicated they wanted to bring their
concept to the Council for your consideration. I suggested they
prepare a "Statement of Interest" detailing the key facts related to
their project. I asked them to have it here by Friday, March 23rd,
so this information could be included in the agenda packets.
I was informed on the 23rd they would have the information available
by Monday. When it arrives, I will distribute it to each of your
prior to the meeting on Wednesday.
As a new developer attempts to enter the "elderly housing picture ",
it should be noted that I have not advocated or promoted one project
over another. I feel my job is to provide you with information and
your decisions will provide the direction I need to work with
potential projects.
PAtt103
