CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
Oft ice of:
JOEL R. HANSON, Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
612- 484 -2177
FAX: 612- 484 -4538
Ms. Dawn Kohler
6817 - 170th Street North
Hugo, MN 55038
RE: Return to Work
Dear Dawn:
March 20, 1990
MAYOR
Michael Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalxe
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
I need your help with the following two issues. First, I do not find
any documentation in the files granting you an approved maternity
leave. I am assuming you planned on having a three month leave as
has been done in other recent maternity situations. To insure that
this matter is handled consistent with our personnel policy, I would
ask that you please file a request for a three month maternity leave
as soon as possible. The maternity leave would be retroactive to
February 7, 1990 based on the birth of your children. The leave
would expire on May 7, 1990 and we would expect you to return to work
on May 8, 1990.
Thetother issue I need your help with is your return to work. It is
my,understanding that you have discussed the possibility of not
returning to work at the conclusion of your maternity leave. If this
is the case, I would like to know as soon as possible in order that I
may plan for appropriate staffing of City functions. If you do plan
on returning to work, I would like you to confirm this fact as well.
I would appreciate a written response to these two issues by the next
Council meeting scheduled for March 28, 1990. By meeting that date,
I can have the appropriate actions taken regarding your maternity
leave. Should you have any comments or questions regarding my
requests, please feel free to give me a call.
JRH:kpv
Sincerely,
R. Hanson
City Administrator
Page 115
