RESOLUTION <br />SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMITTEE CONSISTING <br />OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THOSE CITIES CONTRACTING <br />WITH THE RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />FOR POLICE PROTECTION AND APPOINTING <br />AS THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA'S REPRESENTATIVE ON <br />THAT COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, <br />The City of Little Canada contracts with the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's Department for police coverage, and <br />WHEREAS, <br />The City of Little Canada is one of seven governmental entities <br />utilizing this arrangement with the Ramsey County Sheriff's <br />Department, and <br />WHEREAS, <br />The need exists to maintain on -going communications between the <br />contracting cities and the Sheriff's Department to promote <br />efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of police protection <br />services. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LITTLE CANADA THAT: <br />1. The City of Little Canada supports the formation of an <br />on -going committee structure consisting of one <br />representative from each contracting entity; <br />2. The purpose of this committee is to address on -going <br />issues between the contracting entities in a liaison <br />capacity with no power to obligate the City financially, <br />contractually or from a policy standpoint; <br />3. is hereby designated as the liaison <br />representing the City of Little Canada with this committee. <br />PASSED by the Little Canada City Council this 24th day of January, <br />1990. <br />ATTEST: <br />Joel R.
