Office of:
JOEL R. HANSON, Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
612-484 -2177
FAX: 612. 484.4538
February 23, 1990
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Metro East Development Partnership (MEDP)
MAYOR
Micheal Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bin Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
Pursuant to your direction, I have contacted Business Development
Services to obtain Pat Pelstring's opinion as to the value of our
continued membership in the above - referenced organization. Based on
my conversation with Mr. Pelstring, the following points of
consideration were developed:
*1989 dues were $1,000;
*1990 dues requested are $1,100;
*MEDP has the "best" data base for growth statistics
available for the East Metro area;
*MEDP has done a good job of increasing the awareness
level of developers and financiers regarding development
opportunites in the area;
*We have received at least $1,000 worth of value from
their marketing efforts.
*MEDP's prospecting for developers will favor underdeveloped
communities (those with vacant land) over cities such as
Little Canada just as a matter of practicality.
Hopefully, this information will help you in making your decision
regarding continued membership.
Page 70
