February 15, 1990 Members of the Park Commission of the City of Little Canada I have been a member of the Park Commission since its beginning as a committee in 1973. Over the years I have also served as the parks consultant, preparing plans and specifications for park improvements that have been implemented on a yearly basis. Although this has worked very well, the park activity has expanded rapidly in the past few years and there has been a very significant increase in the amount of consulting services that are required. From time to time, I have expressed to the Park Commission the idea that it may be desirable for me to serve only as the park consultant and to relinquish my position as a member of the Park Commission. This would provide a clear distinction of my role on the Commission and would free up an additional position which could be filled by a new member. This could be done now without any change in the service or input that I have provided to the Commission. I could continue to attend all Park Commission meetings and my compensation for consulting services could remain the same as it is now. I would, of course, continue to provide consulting services only at the pleasure of the Park Commission and the City Council. I hope that the members of the Park Commission and the City Council see this as a positive change and, not in any way, as a lessening of my commitment to serve the City and work toward the implementation of a high quality park system. With this in mind, I hereby submit my resignation as member of the Park Commission effective March 1, 1990. I also want to express my appreciation to the Park Commission and to the Mayor and the City Council for their continued cooperation and support for parks and recreation in the City.
