MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION OCTOBER 11, 1990 Herkenhoff felt the idea a good one. DeLonais agreed and pointed out at one time there was a proposal for a strip of R -2 on the eastern edge of what is now the park. Herkenhoff recommended that the City Council look at the possibility of platting a selling single - family lots along the eastern edge of Pioneer Park. Motion seconded by DeLonais. Motion carried 7 - 0. Clarence Bruehn, Vanderbie Road resident, pointed out that his property would abutt the connection of Costa Lane to Vanderbie Road. Bruehn asked if the plat is approved as submitted if his property would be considered two corner lots. DeBace pointed out that the way the plat is proposed, Bruehn would only have one corner lot. However, if Costa Lane were extended to Alien Avenue some time in the future, then Bruehn would have two corner lots. Bruehn asked the City's assessment policy for corner lots. The City Planner suggested that Bruehn would have to address this question to the City Council. Bruehn felt Costa Lane should go north to Alien Avenue rather than as is being proposed this evening. Pete Costa agreed, however, pointed out that due to the opposition that has been encountered as well as legal problems, the plat has been revised. Mr. DeLonais reported that he received a call from Mr. Moser at 2960 Vanderbie objecting to watermain improvement on Vanderbie. DeLonais also received a call from Mr. Meis, 2992 Vanderbie, who stated that Costa Lane intersecting with Vanderbie would be unsafe, there would be headlights shining into windows of homes, and felt that there would be a need for stop lights at this intersection some time in the future. Mr. Meis also indicated that he felt Mr. Costa should not vote on this matter, and DeLonais informed him that Mr. Costa has been abstaining. Drabik asked if the legal problems are worked out in Page 5
