Office of:
JOEL R. HANSON, Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
612- 484.2177
FAX: 612-484-4538
November 9, 1990
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
MAYOR
Michael Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly ScaIze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE: County Ditch No. 16 /Cost Share On Storm Sewer Correction Work
Attached are memos from the Watershed and from our City Engineer
regarding corrective work needed on City storm sewer outlets that tie
into County Ditch No. 16. As you will note, the Watershed is
indicating a willingness to share in the cost of these improvements
on a 50 -50 basis. The cost to the City initially proposed was
$5,772. However, it has been brought to our attention that one other
piece of corrective work is needed to address an outlet into Ditch
No. 16 from Round Lake. As of the date of this memo, we do not have
the price associated with this work. Mike will attempt to obtain
that prior to Wednesday's meeting.
It is our recommendation that we accept the Watershed's offer to
split the cost of these improvements on a 50 -50 basis. This
recommendation is based on the fact that these are City storm sewer
outlets and would be our responsibility without the Watershed's
assistance. Therefore, we are gaining some additional benefit to the
City by having the Watershed's 50% participation.
Page 5
