Crime Prevention works by
organizing citizen groups, neighborhood watch groups and soliciting citizen
involvement in preventing crimes. Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the
Metro Area routinely assign atieast one full -time officer to plan and institute
a crime prevention program. We serve 8 different cities and will need to
structure a program to meet all their needs.
In 19891using part -time personnel on overtime -- we completed the following:
Neighborhood Watch Groups Formed 15
Home Security Surveys 3
Professional Meetings 13
Open Houses /Display Booths 5
Safety Talks 38
Fundraising Presentations 5
Drug Talks 4
Total Events 83
Actual Hours Spent = 500 Hours
With a full -time Crime Prevention Deputy the Cities we contract with will have
a more progressive, up -to -date program benefiting the neighborhoods and assisting
Law Enforcement to reduce crime.
