Schaber <br />District 6 <br />Terry Schutten <br />Executive Director <br />By now most elected officials are aware thatithe State Legislature <br />has passed the 1991 Omnibus tax bill. This bill includes a <br />one -half cent local option sales tax which will be used to help <br />finance state aids and credits to local governments. The new tax <br />will automatically take effect on July 1, 1991, making the state <br />sales tax 6 -1/2 percent. County Boards can choose to continue this <br />tax after January 1, 1992, by passing a resolution by July 1, <br />1991, indicating that they wish to continue it. <br />The Ramsey <br />bill.
