Hanson We have been advised by the State Gambling Control Board that all vacancies have been filled on the Compliance Review Board. They will be meeting on October 7 to review the audits of the bingo hall operations. After that meeting, we will be furnished copies of the audit reports. They are not available to us prior to that meeting. Mayor Hanson, Council Member LaValle, Kathy Glanzer, and I conducted a tour of Minneapolis' gambling control procedures. I believe we all came away with ideas and impressions which may influence how Little Canada should approach regulation of charitable gambling in our community. To impose regulations upon charitable gambling in Little Canada and to collect the 3% tax, we will have to have an ordinance in place. In order to affectuate that, I am recommending we conduct a workshop to begin review of the various ordinances and to report on the findings of our tour of the City of Minneapolis' procedures. Therefore, I would like the Council to set a date for a workshop to discuss charitable gambling regulations. This would consist of a review of the example ordinances and reporting on the results of our tour of Minneapolis. Based on this information, further information can be given to staff in order that we can prepare the information the Council needs to enact the appropriate policy.
