acsictce of the (*heti
Kathy Glanzer
City of Little Canada
515 E. Little Canada Rd.
Little Canada, MN 55117
Re: Curfew Ordinance
Dear Kathy:
S
CHARLES L. ZACHARIAS
COUNTY of RAMSEY
George W. Katseres, Chief Deputy
14 W. KELLOGG BOULEVARD
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA 55102
TELEPHONE: (612) 298 -4451
TELEFACSIMILE: (612) 292 -7398
I have reviewed the Ordinances for our contract cities in
regards to juvenile curfew. Arden Hills, Lauderdale, North
Oaks, Shoreview and White Bear Township all have similar
ordinances that prohibit juveniles under the age of 16 to
be out in public places between 10 PM and 5AM and juveniles
under the age of 18 to be out in public places between
Midnight and 5AM. Vadnais Heights and Little Canada are the
only two that require all juveniles in by 10PM.
A check of Bankshot Billiards in our address file does not
show this establishment to be a problem in regards to calls
for service. I further checked with Lt. Dan Votel of our
Investigative Unit and asked his opinion of the suggested
change. Lt. Votel had no reservations, from an enforcement
standpoint, about the City granting this request and
changing its ordinance. The Sheriff's Department does not
foresee any problems if the City of Little Canada wishes to
change this ordinance.
Sincerely,
Charles L. Zacharias
Sheriff, Ramsey County
By: Lt. M. Shanley 481 -1 4
Page 14
ADULT DETENTION DIVISION (612) 292 -6050 PATROL DIVISION (612) 484 -3366
S Bo
